Job description

Pentagon Talent have collaborated with a top 20 London leading law firm, who are looking to recruit a Partnership Accountant in London. With a wealth of experience in the legal sector and boasting more than 150 years' worth of experience, my client is seeking a Partnership Accountant to join their London based finance team and assist with handling the daily capital for partners across their global reach, by providing support with the partner capital calculations, partner profit allocation, partner drawings, partner tax computations and distributions to ensure they align with the members' agreements.

The successful candidate will form a team of 3, directly reporting into the Senior Partnership Accountant and the Managing Partnership Accountant to provide support with setting up the Partner Capital Loans and by maintaining the correct interest rate is charged on a quarterly basis

Duties/Responsibilities of the Partnership Accountant

  • Preparing the illustrations and advising the Partners about changes to the partner capital loans due to increases in points following allocation reviews
  • Providing management support for advising the firms banks about increases to the partner capital loan in line with changes to the profit points or partner recruitment
  • Advising the company banks about increases to the partner capital loans in line with changes to the profit Ensure to manage payments being made to the company bank account in a timely manner
  • Making partner capital loan repayments due to any changes made to the profit points or retirement
  • Allocating the quarterly interest amounts in line with the corresponding partner accounts and checking the quarterly interest amounts match
  • Providing analysis and explanation for the capital arrangements to any newly promoted or lateral hire partner
  • Informing the company bank accounts of any changes to address
  • Informing the cashiering department about when funds are expected to be received
  • Handling partner capital loans and repayments are posted accurately to the general ledger account
  • Providing support to partner capital queries
  • Preparing capital balance forecasts
  • Organising capital repayments are made promptly by liaising with the cashiering team
  • Managing the capital projection model
  • Calculating the capital to be retained profit share for all partners' and posting to the general ledger appropriately
  • Calculating the profit due to by the way of interest on personal capital
  • Updating the profit model for borrowed and personal capital with the interest rates charged
  • Preparing the distribution model's capital information required
  • Assisting with ordering the annual interest statements
  • Reconciling the company's capital accounts
  • Reconciling the general ledger accounts
