Finance Systems Analyst

Pentagon Talent have partnered with a top 100 UK Law Firm based in London who are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Finance Systems Analyst to join their collaborative finance team on an 18 month fixed term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking top Law Firm during a period of significant systems change. This Finance Systems Analyst position is available the current plans for the firm to implement a brand new PMS in 2024. This role will act as cover for members of the team going on secondment to fulfil the implementation project and therefore the firm are open to fully remote candidates, allowing the successful Finance Systems Analyst to have the freedom to work from anywhere in the UK alongside all the amazing benefits offered by the firm.

Key Responsibilities for the Finance Systems Analyst

• Providing day to day support and troubleshooting to the UK finance team on finance systems issues and queries.
• Using advanced SQL and MS Excel skills to produce comprehensive reports, analyse data, and respond to both routine and ad-hoc information requests.
• Conduct system training sessions for finance and non-finance personnel, emphasising activities such as billing and reporting.
• Establish and maintain strong system controls to ensure compliance with SRA, AML, and HMRC regulations.
• Work closely with the Finance Systems Manager to contribute to the implementation of a new Practice Management System (PMS), encompassing acceptance testing, data reconciliations, system settings, report creation, and process documentation.

Ideal skills for the Finance Systems Analyst

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in Finance Systems administration gained within the legal sector
• A strong working knowledge of the mechanics of the workings of a legal finance PMS
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including the ability to design reports, analyse large datasets, and conduct reconciliations.
• Essential SQL skills, demonstrating the ability to write queries and design basic reports.
• Generalist IT skills, encompassing experience with databases, Power BI dashboards, and SharePoint.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and processes.
• Legal sector experience with a familiarity to relevant Legal systems.
