Pentagon Talent have partnered with a global powerhouse Magic Circle law firm, who are seeking a fully qualified and experienced Tax Manager to join their London based finance team. As a central point of a 30 strong Partnership Affairs and Tax Team based across London and Belfast, this role will take specific responsibility over the Partner Tax Reserves globally.

With direct responsibility over the full Tax Reserving process across approx 800 global Partners, the successful Tax Manager will have full autonomy to truly make the role their own, forming a vital role within the global Tax team, working alongside experienced UK and International Tax professionals as well as local CFO's. In addition, the successful Tax Manager will benefit from an incredibly collaborative working environment, which promotes a healthy work life balance.

This role would particularly appeal to a qualified tax professional with in depth experience gained within either a Partnership Tax, Personal Tax or Corporate Tax with an appreciation for Tax outside of the UK.

Key Responsibilities for the Tax Manager:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of tax systems across territories.
  • Establish and reconcile tax reserves for partners, including various equalisation arrangements.
  • Coordinate with global tax teams for consolidated views of partners' tax reserves.
  • Review and enhance existing processes for efficiency and compliance.
  • Lead the implementation of processes for new office locations.
  • Support year-end tax calculations and disclosures.
  • Maintain accuracy in accounting systems and deferred tax accounts.
  • Identify and propose technology solutions for process improvement.

Key Requirements for the Tax Manager:

  • Prior experience within either Partnership Tax, Personal Tax or Corporate gained at a Managerial level
  • Proficiency in numeric analysis, with high levels of attention to detail and a high level of meticulousness
  • ACA or equivalent accounting qualification.
  • Tax qualification (ADIT or CTA) desirable.
  • A strong knowledge of Excel with the ability to work with large sets of data at any one time.
