Job description

Pentagon Talent are partnering with a top 100 UK Law Firm in their search for a Credit Controller to join their London Finance Department, where you'll play a crucial role in managing overdue accounts, following up on payments, and ensuring our cash collection processes run smoothly.

This outstanding and sector leading law firm works on a hybrid basis of 3 days in the firms London office per week.

Duties to be undertaken by the Credit Controller:

  • Review accounts receivable regularly, making smart recommendations for doubtful debt provisioning.
  • Follow up on overdue payments via phone, email, and letters, sticking to our firm's policies.
  • Use our credit control systems efficiently for timely actions and accurate record-keeping.
  • Handle invoice-related tasks like issuing copies, preparing statements, and reconciliations.
  • Participate in meetings with Partners and Revenue Controllers to discuss outstanding balances.
  • Address client queries and disputes, working with Revenue Controllers for quick resolutions.
  • Support the year-end audit process by providing necessary data.
  • Take on additional tasks assigned by the Revenue Control Manager and/or Senior Credit Controller.

Ideal Skills for the Credit Controller:

  • GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths.
  • Previous work in a law firm and essential credit control experience.
  • Familiarity with Elite 3E is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, filters, vlookups, "IF" statements, etc.).
  • Well-organised, good communicator, reliable, adaptable, and comfortable with phone or virtual meetings.
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail and commercial awareness.
