Job description

Pentagon Talent are currently partnering with one of the accountancy firms that specialise in the Not-for-profit/Charity Sector. They are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Audit Junior to join their team. As an Audit Junior, you will be responsible for assisting with various audit engagements and ensuring compliance with accounting and auditing standards. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to kickstart their career in accounting and gain valuable experience in the field. You do not require prior experience within the NfP sector. My client is also open to taking candidates with exam fails. A full ACA training contract will be provided.

In this role, you will work closely with senior auditors and other team members to perform financial audits, internal control evaluations, and risk assessments. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse client base across NfP and charities. They will range from small to large organisations. Your main responsibilities will include conducting audit tests, preparing workpapers, analysing financial statements, and identifying any potential issues or discrepancies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and conducting financial audits in accordance with accounting and auditing standards
  • Conduct audit tests, analyze documentation, and identify any discrepancies or areas of concern
  • Prepare workpapers and audit reports to document findings and recommendations
  • Collaborate with team members to perform risk assessments and evaluate internal controls
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and industry trends
  • Communicate effectively with clients and respond to any audit-related inquiries or issues
  • Assist in developing and implementing audit procedures and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements

  • Ideally a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 1 year of experience working within an practice.
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and auditing techniques
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in the use of auditing software and MS Office Suite
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
