Pentagon Talent are delighted to be partnered with a prestigious top 500 UK law firm who has a strong criminal law background to look for a Billing Coordinator in their London office. My client is widely recognised on a professional level with various awards. The Billing Coordinator will be expected to be involved heavily with monthly billing meetings with fee earners to review WIP. The right candidate will be someone who has worked in legal aid billing and is confident in facing partners and fee earners. This role is based in the city of London on a hybrid working basis.

The Billing Coordinator will be involved in making sure any tasks following billing meetings are dealt with promptly. The Billing Coordinator should be able to confidently handle all aspects of legal billing.

The ideal Billing Coordinator will have to:

  • Post weekly bills following receipt of remittance from LAA, allocating costs to fee earners.
  • Providing knowledge and assistance with appeals against LAA rejections and assessments.
  • Attend monthly WIP and billing meetings with fee earners to discuss various things including but not limited to:
  • WIP Write offs.
  • Billing write offs.
  • File closures.
  • Rate changes.

Ideal skills for the Billing Coordinator would include:

  • Experience of billing gained within a law firm.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of legal aid and other systems of public legal funding in both the civil and criminal sector ideally.
  • ALCD or AAT qualification desirable.
  • Ability to use own initiative.
  • Confident, good at relationship building with stakeholders of all seniorities.
