Pentagon Talent have partnered with a prestigious global law firm who are seeking a Tax Assistant to join its dynamic Finance team, in London. This firm is renowned for serving some of the world's most innovative people and businesses, working closely with clients to tackle complex challenges and drive extraordinary results. Role Overview:

The Tax Assistant will play a crucial role in managing the firm's tax compliance obligations and supporting its partners from the firms London office.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing UK tax returns for partners and their spouses, including extracting relevant information from HMRC Government Gateway.
  • Assisting with LLP tax computation, including analysis of disallowable expenses and capital allowances calculations.
  • Preparing corporation tax returns and administering associated quarterly tax payments.
  • Meeting annual tax deadlines, including PAYE Settlement Agreements, Short Term Business Visitors Register, tax reserves calculations, and partner personal tax planning.
  • Engaging in various areas of tax advice, driven by the firm's and its partners' needs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Personal tax experience, ideally ATT qualified (CTA qualification is a plus)
  • Previous experience in a tax-related role or law firm is advantageous but not required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with tax return preparation software (e.g., Digita or CCH) is beneficial.
