Job description

Pentagon Talent have partnered with a top 100 UK law firm based in London, renowned for their exceptional service to clients in the real estate and private wealth sectors. With a collegiate and dynamic finance team in London, this role will play a pivotal part in the quality and consistency of Legal Cashiering within the firm.

Key Responsibilities for the Legal Cashier:

  • Vigilantly monitor bank accounts to meticulously process incoming payments in accordance with SRA/AML regulations.
  • Act as a vital resource for colleagues, offering guidance on payment approvals and ensuring compliance with the firm's rigorous standards.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with our bank's payments team to adeptly resolve any payment discrepancies.
  • Expertly manage client account payments and other critical financial transfers.
  • Invest surplus funds judiciously in the overnight money market.
  • Maintain updated client interest records as necessitated.
  • Accurately input Counsel fee notes and extend cover for fellow cashiers when required.

Qualifications and Experience required for the Legal Cashier:

  • Proficiency in numerical analysis, accompanied by strong MS Excel skills.
  • Prior experience in the legal sector, while advantageous, is not mandatory.
  • A minimum of 1 year of pertinent cashiering experience, preferably within a professional services firm.
  • Familiarity with 3E is considered an asset but is not a prerequisite.
